Symptoms of Candida and An Alternative Cure For Candida

Candida affects most Americans whether they’re aware of it or not. The symptoms of candida can be outrageous or subtle. The symptoms seem to be more obvious for women than men. In all cases candida symptoms are highly variable from individual to individual. There is an alternative cure to candida that most are unaware of, and it is not actually a cure but a way of life that is not conducive to the spawning and growth of candida.

Symptoms of Candida

Common symptoms include yeast infections, bloating, brain fog, itchy skin rashes, and fatigue. Not being able to lose weight with diet and exercise, depression, joint pain, headaches, and chronic sinus infections are also known to be the result of systemic candida.

Candida Albicans is a fungus. We live with yeast in low numbers, just like we live with numerous good and bad bacteria in our intestines and on our skin. The symptoms arise from the growth of the fungus to higher than normal levels. The symptoms come from the body fighting the undesirable presence. The immune system does not have a specific army for candida, therefore making it quite difficult to heal from it. I myself have struggled with candida many times waiting for my immune system to beat it, like I do when I get a cold. However, I have found that I must be incredibly pro-active in assisting the immune system, and more importantly creating a hostile internal environment for the continual growth of yeast.

Alternative Cures to Candida

What do I mean by a hostile internal environment? The tissues are high in oxygen, alkaline, and saturated with herbs. Notice I did not mention sugar. There is so much false information about sugar that individuals now get a negative placebo reaction when they eat a piece of fruit. Many alternative practitioners and authors warn the sufferers to stay away from fruit because “it is high in sugar”. Yes fruit contains fructose, a natural sugar. Fruit also contains amino acids, fatty acids, fiber, and enzymes. These other constituents are attached to the sugar, creating a more complex carbohydrate food.

Cook the fruit, and you have a simple carbohydrate. The processed or cooked fruit denatures the amino acids and enzymes so that all that remains is the sugar. One can also choose fruits that contain more fiber such as apples and pears versus bananas. Eating raw almond butter or a handful of pre-soaked raw nuts with the fruit also slows the glucose transit time. That’s what it’s all about. How fast is the glucose rushing into the blood? A high glycemic index that comes with simple carbs means the glucose transit time is fast and the blood sugar shoots up quickly. A low glycemic index that comes with complex carbs, protein, and fats means the transit time is moderate to slow.

I guarantee no raw foodist or a person living off of fresh fruit ever had an issue with candida. Those who have symptoms of candida have a history of eating lots of meat, dairy, and processed carbohydrates (bread, cookies, pasta). A history of antibiotics and other pharmaceutical drugs also contribute to the growth of candida.

It’s not enough to do the “anti-candida diet”, nor is it realistic for the long term. One must saturate the body with food herbs all day long in addition to living a natural lifestyle. Eating a plant based diet consisting of raw fruits, veggies, and nuts will not add to the food that the fungus wants (process sugar and meat). However, starving the fungus will not cause it to leave the body.
